Shining Through: Hollywood's Pioneers

We’ve got talent! As a follow up to our focus on entrepreneurs last week, I wanted to put the spotlight on some of Hollywood’s pioneers. Here are three handsome men excelling in their acting careers:

• Brian Michael - Brian Michael has made a name for himself in television dramas like FOX's "9-1-1: Lone Star" and OWN's "Queen Sugar." In both shows, he plays complex, layered characters that break away from traditional stereotypes, thereby humanizing our narratives on television. Michael is also a dedicated advocate for transgender rights, lending his voice to raise awareness about issues affecting the community.

• Elliot Fletcher - Known for his roles in MTV's "Faking It", Showtime's "Shameless," and ABC Family's "The Fosters", Fletcher has demonstrated a wide range of acting abilities. Notably, his character Noah in "Faking It" is a portrayal of a man navigating romantic relationships, bringing a much-needed narrative to mainstream media. Fletcher has also used his platform to advocate for transgender rights, reinforcing the importance of visibility and representation.

• Tom Phelan - The performances of Phelan and Fletcher in ABC Family's "The Fosters" have added depth to the show's portrayal of gender identity. Phelan’s character Cole navigates the complexities of life in a group home for troubled girls, adding a fresh perspective to the discourse around gender identity in such settings.
