Welcome to the Saloon

I wanted to make a newsletter unlike any other. A place for just the guys, to celebrate who we are and what we do. In this newsletter, I won’t be using the word “trans” to qualify men — there’s no reason to distinguish — we’re the sole focus.

Let’s get to it.

The community board in town had a few notable posts. A fellow is putting together a book of poems and doing the art for it. You can submit something by going to the google form linked in the post. Similarly, another post asked for people to send their life stories to be compiled into a collection. It is open to a broader audience.

There was also a survey about how you envision yourself when you dream. I marked ‘cis’ only because that has happened a few times… But dreams, those whimsical architects of the subconscious, weave you through labyrinthine dimensions, awash in the bewildering haze of shifting vantage points and locations. It’s hard to define what goes on in them….. What are yours like?

A group of men competed for the first time in football (soccer) in the U.K. The TRUK United FC is an inspiration for players to come, showing that it is possible to compete at that level.

Now that so many men feel comfortable enough and are able to be themselves, this is just the start of all the athletes, business people, politicians, etc, who will be able to represent us and show off our diverse strengths.

And finally, arguably the most visible guy out there, Elliot Page, shared a photo & caption on Instagram about how happy he is to live in his body now. You’ve got our support, brother!
